Field Plate 04: Paramitrus
Study path: Mechanical Constructs
Expedition journal: Drs. Jonathan and Amelia Blackwood
A low-slung, many-legged construct carries a curved shell above a dense arrangement of joints, tubes, and structural parts. Long claw-like appendages project from the front, balancing the rounded upper casing with a sharply articulated underside. The plate presents a machine whose silhouette recalls an armored arthropod.
The Blackwoods' Working Theory
The Blackwoods wonder whether the shell protected delicate systems or represented an imitation of natural armor. Its resemblance to living forms is striking, but any connection to the planet's biological giants remains a theory rather than a settled classification.
Part of BBairt's fictional illustrated expedition into a kaiju kingdom where nature and technology reveal traces of an ancient civilization. These field notes expand the artwork's imagined world; the specimen's origins remain open to discovery.
