Field Plate 05: Makorodon
Study path: Uncertain Hybrids
Expedition journal: Drs. Jonathan and Amelia Blackwood
A streamlined, tooth-filled creature stretches across the study, with a tall dorsal fin and broad fin-like appendages. Warm orange coloration follows the back, while rounded components and unusual structures interrupt the underside. The result blends the visual language of a marine predator with that of a technical diagram.
The Blackwoods' Working Theory
The Blackwoods place Makorodon among their unresolved specimens. The drawing suggests a body built for movement through fluid, but they cannot yet separate natural anatomy from structures that might be mechanical, protective, or simply unfamiliar.
Part of BBairt's fictional illustrated expedition into a kaiju kingdom where nature and technology reveal traces of an ancient civilization. These field notes expand the artwork's imagined world; the specimen's origins remain open to discovery.
